Many questions do come up along the way, in this section you will find some answers to some questions about your design and how Artwear can ensure the best possible and cost effective way to make your client look their best!

Q: I have a design that looks great on the left chest. Can I use it on a hat?

A: Sometimes, yes. But most of the time the design needs to be edited or redigitized to sew in a certain order to avoid wrinkles and registration issues that surface when sewing on a curved surface. Also, most left chest designs are too tall in be embroidered on a cap front. Designs must be no taller that 2.25” high. Artwear can always test the design on a sample cap to ensure the best result.

Q: Why does the minimum height of a letter have to be 1/4” high?

A: The minimum letter height is set at 1/4” high for a couple reasons.
1- any smaller and the text starts to close up on itself
2- The embroidery machine would use the same hole to end the stitch as it uses to start the stitch and when that happens the stitch falls out or unravels.

Q: I already have my sew file. Can Artwear use it?

A: Yes! Artwear will gladly sew out any customer provided designs. We will even create a digital proof that includes colors and a scan of the sewn design

Q: Can Artwear resize my digitized file?

A: If it resized smaller. Many times we can, without drastically changing the look of the original file. In some cases like going from a full back design to a left chest design we cannot resize the file and would require artwork and redigitizing at the correct size for the intended application.
